Anthony Joshua's family is getting anxious after being unable to reach or visit him following a fatal car crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The boxer was involved in a collision with a stationary truck around 11 am on Monday, resulting in the deaths of two close friends and team members, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele.

Joshua's uncle, Adedamola Joshua, expressed the family's shock and concern, stating they've only received updates through friends and well-wishers. They're eager to see him, but understand the need for security and medical protocols. "We are all eager to see him, even if only three of us are allowed, but we understand the need to protect him given his global status," Adedamola said.

The 36-year-old boxer sustained minor injuries and is receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital. Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has visited Joshua, conveying condolences and wishing him a speedy recovery. The Federal Road Safety Corps attributes the crash to excessive speed and wrongful overtaking.
