The incident occurred on Sunday night when residents, frustrated by frequent motorcycle thefts, attacked and set ablaze the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) outpost in Danmaje, where the suspects were being held. The mob, comprising residents from neighboring communities, overpowered NSCDC officers and took the suspects, beating and killing them before setting the outpost on fire.

The NSCDC confirmed the incident, stating that officers on duty narrowly escaped death, and three personnel sustained injuries. A committee has been formed to investigate the attack and identify those responsible. The NSCDC has appealed to residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies, emphasizing that mob violence undermines the rule of law and poses risks to lives and property.

This incident highlights the growing concern of mob justice in Nigeria, often fueled by frustration with security inefficiencies and rising crime rates. Similar incidents have been reported in other parts of the country, such as Delta and Gboko, where suspected thieves were lynched by mobs.
