Peter Obi Joins ADC, Arrives Enugu in style

Peter Obi, the Labour Party's 2023 presidential candidate, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Enugu.

Obi announced his defection, stating it's aimed at transforming and rescuing Nigeria ahead of the 2027 elections. "We are ending this year with the hope that in 2026 we will begin a rescue journey," he declared.

Obi's move comes after months of speculation, with some sources indicating he met with ADC National Chairman David Mark to finalize his membership. The former Anambra governor emphasized his commitment to resisting election rigging in 2027, saying, "We will resist rigging of election by every lawful means in 2027".

The defection has sparked mixed reactions, with Labour Party's National Publicity Secretary Obiora Ifoh downplaying the move, stating it's driven by personal ambition. Meanwhile, ADC officials are optimistic about Obi's potential to boost their party's chances in 2027.
