Real Madrid Thrash Athletic Bilbao 3–0 at San Mamés

Real Madrid delivered a ruthless performance away at Athletic Bilbao, sweeping aside the hosts 3–0 to snap a run of three consecutive La Liga draws.

The visitors drew first blood early, with Kylian Mbappé gliding past two defenders before finishing from the edge of the box in the 7th minute — a goal that set the tone for Madrid’s dominance.

Shortly before halftime, Eduardo Camavinga headed home after a perfectly worked move involving a cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold and a header back-across by Mbappé, sending Madrid into the break with a comfortable 2–0 lead.

The final blow came on the hour mark when Mbappé struck again — this time from nearly 30 metres out — to seal the emphatic win.

Although Real suffered second-half injuries to Alexander-Arnold and Camavinga, their fluid and high-tempo attacking play proved decisive.

The victory lifts Real Madrid to 36 points from 15 games — just one point behind league leaders FC Barcelona — reigniting their pursuit of the La Liga crown.
