Australian football star and Chelsea striker Sam Kerr has married her long-time partner, American footballer Kristie Mewis, in a private and elegant ceremony on New Year's Eve in Perth, Western Australia.
The event, held at the picturesque Dionysus Villa in the Swan Valley region, was attended by approximately 120 guests, including several of Kerr's Matildas teammates such as Steph Catley, Mackenzie Arnold, Alanna Kennedy, and Caitlin Foord, as well as international players like Arsenal's Katie McCabe.
Kerr, 32, opted for a sophisticated black tuxedo with a white boutonniere, while Mewis, 34, wore a stunning white gown featuring a corset overlaid with a transparent dress adorned with sparkling details and a long veil. In a heartfelt moment, Kerr carried the couple's seven-month-old son, Jagger Mewis-Kerr, down the aisle, an emotional highlight that Mewis had previously described as "gut-wrenching" in anticipation.
The couple, who began dating in 2020 and announced their engagement in 2023, welcomed their first child in May 2025. Celebrations continued into the early hours of 2026, with Kerr sharing glimpses on social media of the joyous festivities.
Following the wedding, the newlyweds returned to London with their son, as Kerr prepares for her upcoming Chelsea fixture.
