Fisayo Michael Olagunju, popularly known as MC Fish, has finally addressed the end of his five-year marriage to Nollywood actress Anita Joseph. The hype man and comedian broke his long silence on January 3, 2026, through a series of candid Instagram stories, responding to public speculation and backlash following the couple's separation.
The marriage, which began with a glamorous wedding in February 2020, had been the subject of intense rumors since late 2025. Anita Joseph first confirmed the split on December 23, 2025, in an emotional Instagram post where she declared, "Calling a spade a spade, my marriage is over." She described the period as one of "deep reflection, pain, and healing," emphasizing her choice to embrace "grace, growth, and faith." Prior to her announcement, whispers of trouble had circulated, including unverified allegations of infidelity, domestic issues, and substance abuse on MC Fish's part. Some insiders even pointed to his alleged involvement in a controversial fraternity as a turning point that strained the relationship.

While Anita chose to focus on personal healing without delving into specifics, MC Fish had remained notably quiet—until now. In his posts, he revealed intimate details about how their romance began, stating that Anita was the one who approached him first. "I dey where I dey hype when dem come toast me and e lead to a marriage," he wrote, explaining that he was simply doing his job as a hypeman when the actress made the first move, eventually leading to their union.

MC Fish strongly defended his career, which has often been stereotyped and undermined online. He emphasized that he has been a professional MC and hypeman for over 15 years, earning his living independently. Dismissing claims that he was financially dependent on Anita, he challenged critics: "I dare her to say she took care of the bills by herself in the five years of that marriage." He argued that if his profession lacked viability, Anita—a successful actress—would not have pursued and married him.

Acknowledging the marriage's collapse, MC Fish admitted, "Marriage no work again," but warned against provocative false narratives. He expressed frustration with "imbeciles everywhere" spreading misinformation, noting that he had deliberately stayed silent to avoid escalating drama but felt compelled to respond to protect his reputation.
