Arsenal and Brazil star Gabriel Jesus was spotted with a crutches following his surgery.
Jesus hobbled off in Brazil's World Cup group-stage loss to Cameroon last Friday, and it was soon determined that the injury had dashed his prospects of playing for the tournament favorites in the knockout round.
Jesus had right knee surgery, as Arsenal acknowledged yesterday, although no timetable for his future comeback was provided.
The North London club announced that Jesus will start a treatment program.
Following surgery, Jesus, 25, shared an update on Instagram in which he was seen posing with crutches.
According to reports in Brazil, Jesus could be sidelined for up to three months, which would keep him from playing until March.
Jesus would most likely miss Arsenal's final ten Premier League contests, which would include two meetings with title rival Manchester City and a matchup with Tottenham in the North London derby.
Since moving to Arsenal from Manchester City in the summer for £45 million, Jesus has started each of Arsenal's 14 Premier League games this year.
Following surgery, Jesus, 25, shared an update on Instagram in which he was seen posing with crutches.
'Time to go home,' Jesus wrote,. with the forward adding that he would 'be back stronger'.
