Chelsea have officially announced the arrival of Christopher Vivell as the club's new technical director.
Reportminds Blog understands that this position has been vacant for 5 years since the shock resignation of Michael Emenalo in 2017.
Christopher Vivell is 35 and spent two years with German Bundesliga club RB Leipzig before being approached by Chelsea to become the club's technical director.
There has been an overhaul at Chelsea since Todd Boehly took over the club from former owner Roman Abramovich. Due to the overhaul, many prominent figures such as Marina Granovskia, Petr Cech and Thomas Tuchel left the club for a short time. Christopher Vivell's job at Chelsea will be with Graham Potter and how he will help the Chelsea manager succeed during his time at the club. While Vivell's role is not 100% set in stone, it has been hinted that he will head Chelsea's data and scouting activities, making him a replacement for Scott McLachlan, who has also departed the club and is responsible for international scouting activities of Chelsea.
