Everton's manager has fired Frank Lampard following a run of bad play that has left them tied for last place in the Premier League.

Update: Frank Lampard sacked by Everton owner Farhad Moshiri over the phone

In a phone call with Farhad Moshiri, the majority stakeholder of Everton, the former Chelsea and Derby manager was informed that his 357-day tenure as manager had come to an end.

After Everton's 2-0 loss against West Ham, their 11th defeat in their previous 14 games overall, Lampard allegedly speaks with Moshiri, Chairman Bill Kenwright, and Director of Football Kevin Thelwell.

The 44-year-contract, old's which he signed on January 31 of last year, has 18 months left on it.

Although it has not yet been announced, it is anticipated that Joe Edwards, Chris Jones, Paul Clement, and Ashley Cole, members of his backroom staff, will also depart alongside Lampard.

Additionally, Lampard has had to deal with team discipline issues. Last week, he was forced to send Abdoulaye Doucoure to practice alone after an altercation following the 2-1 loss to Southampton on January 14.

The search for Everton's sixth manager in the past seven years will now start.
