"He is a good guy, In life you can make mistake" - Roberto De Zerbi breaks silence after Moises Caicedo’s transfer request to join Arsenal

Despite Moises Caicedo's desire in departing following a record transfer bid from Arsenal, Roberto De Zerbi expressed his belief that Brighton will be able to maintain hold of the midfielder.

The Brighton Hove Albion manager spoke for the first time following the player's request to transfer out of the Amex Stadium.

According to Reportminds Blog, Caicedo was instructed to delay participating in Seagulls training until after Tuesday's transfer deadline.

This was in response to a post he made on Instagram in which he expressed his desire to "bring in a record transfer price for Brighton."

Caicedo has been informally informed by Brighton that he will not be departing in January.

The 21-year-old Ecuadorian has only been training with the Seagulls' first team since the summer, and Chelsea has also expressed interest in the player. Arsenal has already had a £60 million bid for the player rejected this transfer window.

De Zerbi expressed his wish for a reunion with the player to ITV before of Brighton's FA Cup fourth-round match against Liverpool.

"Moises is a good guy, we will see tomorrow and the next days what happens," he said. "We hope he stays with us until the end of the season.

The Brighton manager continued by saying he will remain at the Amex Stadium for the remainder of the campaign.

He added : "In life you can make mistake. For everyone there are many solutions. We will see the best solution for him and for us."
