When his team, Argentina, defeated France in the World Cup final, Lionel Messi may have been hesitant to return home, but at Paris Saint-Germain, he was greeted with cheers and a hero's welcome.

After taking two weeks off following the victory in Qatar's penalty shootout championship, the Argentine star arrived in France at last.
He spent some time celebrating at home in Buenos Aires and Rosario, but he is now back at PSG, where he embraced Neymar and his other teammates on Wednesday at their training facility while grinning widely.

After the World Cup break, the Parisian giants played against Strasbourg on December 28. The Argentina captain was not present.
Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, who played in the World Cup final just ten days earlier, started the game in his place while Messi stayed in Argentina.
It will now be up to manager Christophe Galtier to reintegrate him into the team; the earliest he is anticipated to play is the Ligue 1 match against Angers on January 11.

Messi wasn't reunited with many of his PSG teammates until early Wednesday morning because many of them had been given the day off on Tuesday.
Along with Neymar, he was seen reuniting in the locker room with Carlos Soler and Nuno Mendes.
