Moment Mikel Arteta was spotted chatting with Jorginho at football match

An old video of Mikel Arteta and Jorginho joking as they leave the field has surfaced again, three years before the Spaniard left Jorginho.

Arsenal fans have been convinced by newly discovered footage of Mikel Arteta speaking with Jorginho that he has admired the Italian for a long time.

After Arsenal's match against Chelsea in January 2020, Arteta and Jorginho walked off the field with a warm embrace and conversation. Jorginho scored from the penalty spot as the two teams left Stamford Bridge with one point each.

Jorginho is set to join Arsenal three years later as Arteta strives for a Premier League title. Additionally, any concerns that Arteta was in a state of panic when making the purchase have been dispelled by the newly discovered footage.

Mikel Arteta move for Jorginho comes after injury to Mohamed Elneny who is expected to be out for several months. 

However, after it became clear that Mohamed Elneny would be out for the remainder of the season, Arteta required some additional midfield reinforcements.
