Paul Onuachu will be acquired by Southampton for €21 million by Belgian Pro League team KRC Genk.

The Saints will pay the forward from the Super Eagles €18 million, plus €3 million for add-ons.

According to Belgian media outlet HLN, Onuachu will sign a three-and-a-half-year contract with Dean Jones' team.

The 28-year-old will become the second Nigerian player at the South Coast club, following Joe Aribo, who has already played a significant role in the team.

Onuachu has already scored 16 goals for Genk in 19 league appearances this season.

His arrival will improve Southampton's Premier League survival chances.

The Saints are last in the Premier League with 15 points from 20 matches.
