Bacary Sagna, a former Arsenal defender, is certain that Mykhaylo Mudryk, a top target, will join the team this month.
The leaders of the Premier League have had two bids for the winger from Shakhtar Donetsk turned down, but they are still in talks with the Ukrainian team.
It is believed that Arsenal's most recent offer was approximately £60 million, which is significantly less than Mudryk's estimation.
Even though Shakhtar are said to be seeking a fee of around £85 million, there is hope that a deal can be made, especially since the 22-year-old has said that he wants to move to the Emirates Stadium.
While other teams are interested, Chelsea is getting closer to signing Joao Felix and may add Noni Madueke after he leaves.
Following the winter break in the Ukrainian top-flight, Mudryk, who is still Mikel Arteta's top target, has traveled to Turkey for Shakhtar's mid-season training camp.
Nevertheless, in an interview with Lord Ping, Sagna predicted that Arsenal would acquire their player, but he also suggested that a deal might have to wait until the end of the window.
“He’ll be joining the club,” he said.
“I think football transfers are a mind game between the buyer and the seller. Shakhtar knows the quality of the player and they know that Arsenal really want him.
“I think it will happen, but maybe at the end of the window.
“Shakhtar will keep pushing and negotiating until the end to get the largest amount for their player, but they will be aware of the players desire to join the club and they won’t want to frustrate the player.
“It is also a massive opportunity for them to make a significant sale which can be invested in other players.
“I’m convinced the deal will happen. Of course, Arsenal fans would like it to happen sooner rather than later because he will be a massive addition to the club.”
