In the Carabao Cup victory over Charlton, Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford extended his incredible scoring streak.
Rashford scored two goals in extra time after coming off the bench to seal a 3-0 victory.
By scoring eight goals in a row, Rashford broke Wayne Rooney's previous record for scoring in consecutive home games.
Rashford has now scored 15 goals and provided six assists for the season.
Wayne Rooney, a former Manchester United striker, sent Rashford a message on Twitter recognizing his talent.
He wrote: “Class @MarcusRashford. Let’s keep it going….”
When Manchester United play Manchester City this weekend, Rashford faces a significant challenge to extend his streak.
The England international has scored against City before, scoring a goal that was decisive when he was a teenager. However, his record against City has improved recently.
In 16 games against City, he has scored four goals, the most recent of which was a consolation goal in January 2020.
