Due to the alleged gangrape of the bride-to-be, the Zazzau Emirate Council fires the palace guard.
A palace guard (Dogari) in Kaduna State has been fired by the Zazzau Emirate Council for allegedly gangraping a woman.
"Sama’ila Abubakar Rimin Tsiwa, a palace guard, has been dismissed with immediate effect from the services of the Zazzau Emirate Council for raping a lady on a mission to the palace," the Emir's Media and Publicity Officer Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai said in a statement on January 11, 2023. "The lady, who was preparing for her wedding, sought to see the Emir for assistance through the palace guard."
The suspect enticed the lady to a location with friends, where they 8 her, rather than taking her to the Emir, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.
"A lady preparing for her wedding seeking for assistance from the Emir approached him (Sama’ila), to be taken before the Emir but instead of doing that, he lured her to a location with his friends were they gang-raped her," the statement read.
“The Council has directed the Police to speed-up with their investigations and ensure prosecution of the culprits without any delay."
The statement said that the emirate council said it would follow up on the case to make sure the victim got what she deserved.
