Will Smith supported Folarin Balogun despite the fact that he missed a crucial penalty in the second forty-five minutes of play after Stade De Reims and OGC Nice played to a scoreless draw.

The 21-year-old missed the spot kick that would have indicated the direction the confrontation would have taken if he had made it.

Folarin Balogun is a player who is currently on loan from Arsenal FC of the English Premier League to Reims of the French Ligue 1. He has exploded in the league.

With fifteen (15) goals scored, he currently leads Jonathan David and former Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette in French Ligue 1.

Balogun is also two goals ahead of Kylian Mbappe, despite the fact that Balogun wasted Reims' best opportunity to score against Nice by throwing away the ball from inside the 18-yard box.

He attracted Jean-Clair Todibo and won the penalty kick for his team, but he was unable to overcome Kasper Schmeichel, who made a nice save in goal for the Nice team.

In response to a query from a reporter, Will Smith, the manager of Stade De Reims, mentioned Balogun's disappointment at missing the penalty, but noted that it is a part of the round-legged game known as football.

Will smith said:

“Balogun is very disappointed. Very, very disappointed, but it happens, and I told him that at the end of the match. It’s not the end of the world. The best players in the world, be it Zinédine Zidane or Thierry Henry have missed a penalty at some point. It’s part of football,”

The manager of Reims further said:

“It’s a detail and one that we’ll try to correct. He is the first to recognise that, and he expects a lot of himself, and he wants to score goals. But it’s nothing too serious.”
