Kevin Maussi Martins, the son of retired Super Eagles striker Obafemi Martins, has signed his first professional deal with Italian Serie A team Monza.
Obafemi Martins had a successful career playing in Serie A for Inter Milan and the Premier League for Newcastle United.
Obafemi Martins, according to Reportminds Blog, also played in the United States of America and China in the latter stages of his career.
Kevin Martins, Martins' son, has likewise followed in his father's footsteps. The forward joined the AC Milan youth system before transferring to Inter Milan in 2018.
He then advanced through the ranks before transferring to Monza. Kevin Martins serves as a backup striker. He may, though, continue to be the key man up front.
On Saturday, Monza revealed that Kevin had signed his first professional deal with the club, which will last through June 2024
The former Nigerian footballer, Martins expressed his delight on social media. He posted: “Congratulations my son, I’m so proud of you. I wish you a long and successful career at Monza,” Martins wrote.
