Gabriel Martinelli, the match-winning striker for Arsenal, has revealed what manager Mikel Arteta said to the team during halftime following the Gunners' 1-0 victory over Leicester.
After the restart, Martinelli scored to give Arsenal a crucial win in the Premier League title race as the north London club went into the break at 0-0.
Arsenal maintains a two-point lead over Pep Guardiola's second-place team with a game remaining after Manchester City defeated AFC Bournemouth later in the day.
When questioned about what manager Arteta said to his team in the locker room following the first 45 minutes of the match against Leicester, Martinelli responded as follows: ‘The manager said we had to win in any context, and in this league you have to win matches in this way.’
Martinelli appeared to twist his knee while scoring, raising concerns that the Brazil international would limp off injured before continuing.
In an interview with Arsenal's website, the 21-year-old played down any concerns about injury: ‘Nothing happened, I’m fine!’
