Inter Milan confirms that Romelu Lukaku will return to Chelsea this summer

Romelu Lukaku will return to Chelsea this summer, according to Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta, despite claims made by the Belgian striker that he wants to make his loan to the Italian club permanent.

The Belgian international has struggle at his, second spell at Chelsea under former manager Thomas Tuchel, which forced him back to Inter on loan. 

Even though he was brought back for a club-record £97.55 million, the 29-year-old had a miserable first season at Stamford Bridge and returned to Inter on loan last summer.

This season, the Belgian has only made 14 appearances on loan from Inter due to injury.

'Lukaku to stay also next year? It's too early to decide, he will return to Chelsea and we will see what's next,' Marotta told Sky. 'Lukaku wants to stay at Inter, for sure — we know Romelu's intention and so we will see if we can negotiate his return here.'

In the first leg of their Champions League last-16 match at the San Siro, Lukaku's team defeated FC Porto 1-0 to win the match.
