Patrick Vieira, a former professional football player for Arsenal, has shared his biggest regret from his playing career.
After Arsenal's 2003–2004 Premier League-winning season, Vieira, who is currently the manager of Crystal Palace, acknowledged that he regretted not signing with Real Madrid.
Under the leadership of former manager Arsene Wenger, Arsenal went on an unprecedented Premier League unbeaten streak that season and earned the moniker "The Invincibles.".
In 29 league games that season, Vieira made a significant contribution for the Gunners, contributing three goals and five assists.
Following his success that season, the former midfielder was offered the chance to join Real Madrid, but he declined and chose to stay at Arsenal.
Speaking on the failed move, Vieira told Afrique Sports (via Madrid Xtra): “I had no reason to leave Arsenal, I was comfortable there. But if I could go back in time, things would probably be different.
“Not joining Real Madrid is the regret of my career.”
