Thugs who attacked a voting unit at Government Science Secondary School in the Jekadafari neighborhood of Gombe State were caught by soldiers with two ballot boxes.

The school served as the voting location for the state's governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, who is the North-East Coordinator for the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.
Punch reports that as the House of Representatives election count was getting started, thugs with guns, cutlasses, and other dangerous weapons broke into the area around 7:20 p.m. with the intention of stealing ballot boxes, papers, and other important materials.
Security staff members recovered two of the four stolen boxes.
Abdulkadir Babangida, an eyewitness, reported that the thugs showed up at the location unexpectedly.
