Paul Pogba, a former midfielder for Manchester United, reportedly has his contract about to be terminated, according to reports from Juventus.
The France international's only issue, according to the struggling Serie A giants, is the injury he is currently recovering from, so they do not intend to fire him.
Despite reports that Juventus was considering the move, Francesco Calvo, the club's chief football officer, denied it.
When his contract with the Premier League powerhouses expired at the end of the previous season, Pogba returned to Juventus from Manchester United, but things have not been going well at all in Italy.
In Serie A, Juventus is currently in 10th place, 30 points back of league-leading Napoli.
Since his return to Italy following a serious knee injury in the summer, Pogba has not appeared in a single match for Juventus.
It's been heard that because of his enormous salary and minimal contribution to the first team, rumors circulated that the Old Lady was thinking about firing him. His current contract is good until 2026.
Pogba was not cut loose, according to Calvo, who addressed the rumors, who also insisted that he would be making a swift return to the first team.
“We are not planning to terminate Pogba’s contract, I can deny these stories,” Calvo said, via Fabrizio Romano.
“He’s an important player for us, the injuries are part of the game but Paul is training well and we wait for him.”
