According to Paris Hilton, she had to give her mother Kathy Hilton a blue Chanel handbag in order to announce the birth of her son Phoenix Barron since she had to keep the news from her close relatives until after he was born.

Late in January, 40-year-old Paris and her billionaire husband Carter Reum made the announcement that they had given birth to a child via surrogate.

When Paris was about to announce it on Instagram, they kept both of their close family members in the dark.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Paris has now disclosed that she originally gave Kathy a fancy handbag before giving her Phoenix.

“I was like, if I give her Chanel first, maybe she won’t be so upset that I didn’t tell her about this,” Paris confessed to the magazine.

On her mother's reaction, Paris said her mother was “like: ‘What is that?’ And I was like: ‘A baby...meet your grandson.’ She’s like: ‘Is this yours?’ And she starts crying. She’s like: ‘Let me hold him. He’s the most beautiful baby I’ve ever seen in my life. Oh, he’s so beautiful.’ She was just in tears.”
