After days of collating results from across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, the Chairman of the Commission, Mahmood Yakubu, announced the final result at precisely 4.10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1. He stated that Tinubu received a total of 8,794, 726 votes.
Atiku Abubakar of the People's Democratic Party, his closest rival, received 6, 984, 520 votes, while Peter Obi of the Labour Party received 6, 101, 533 votes to finish in third place. The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso has 1,496,687 votes.
According to Mahmood, Tinubu's and his running mate's Certificate of Returns will be issued by 3 p.m. today, March 1.
