Manchester United teenager, Alejandro Garnacho gets first Argentina call up

Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United has been selected for the Argentina team's friendlies against Curacao and Panama.



For the first time, Alejandro Garnacho who is just 18 years old gets named to the Argentina national squad.

The 18-year-old has been selected by Lionel Scaloni for his first 35-man team since Argentina's World Cup victory in Qatar in December. 

Garnacho had only made his debut under Erik ten Hag when he nearly missed being called up to the team last year.

Although he missed out from the Argentine World Cup squad in December, but he responded with several matching winning performances. 

The latest came in Manchester United FA Cup match against West Ham where he scored twice in the game. 

The Reds defeated West Ham in the FA Cup fifth round on Wednesday night thanks to a goal from Garnacho in the final seconds.

With that goal, he now has four for the first team this year. Lisandro Martinez, a United teammate and World Cup victor, will accompany Garnacho on international duty.

The first match of Argentina's next friendly series will be against Panama on March 23, followed by a match against Curacao on March 28.
