UEFA has responded after English Premier League heavyweights Chelsea announced the hiring of Frank Lampard as their new head coach till the end of the season.

The former manager of Derby County has not managed a team since being fired by Everton a few months ago, but he has finally accepted to take over as the Blues' new manager for the remainder of the current campaign.
The Chelsea football club fired Frank Lampard in January 2021 due to the team's dismal performance across all competitions, but he has since been reinstated.

On Thursday, the Chelsea football club tweeted via a verified account claiming;""Frank Lampard returns as caretaker manager until the end of the season."

After the announcement that Frank Lampard will serve as Chelsea's interim head coach till the conclusion of the current campaign, UEFA said on its verified Twitter account that;"Super Frankie Lampard is back at Chelsea football club."

Frank Lampard was appointed interim head coach by Chelsea on Thursday after the dismissal of Graham Potter on Sunday. Lampard will serve in that capacity till the end of the current season.

Thursday's practice was conducted by Lampard as Chelsea prepared for their Premier League encounter against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Lampard has remained jobless since leaving Everton in January, despite having 211 goals for Chelsea total. He was hired as Chelsea's manager in June 2019. Under his leadership, the squad finished fourth in the Premier League and lost to Arsenal in the FA Cup final. When he was let go the next year, Thomas Tuchel replaced him.
