Andres Iniesta, a legendary player for Barcelona, has spoken out about Lionel Messi's decision to reject a return to the La Liga winners and sign with Inter Miami instead.
Messi and Iniesta were former Barcelona teammates when they played at Camp Nou.
Last month, Messi made the decision to join Inter Miami and begin a new phase of his football career.
On June 30, the captain of Argentina's contract with Paris Saint-Germain came to an end.
Messi has been connected to a return to Barcelona before to deciding to go to Miami.
Iniesta has since spoken his thoughts on Messi's choice, urging everyone to consider their options carefully.
According to the former Spain international, Barca Universal:
“It would have been nice [for Messi to return to Barcelona], special for what it means, but in the end, everyone looks for the best option, what they think will be good for them and, from there, they will probably live a different experience to what they have lived before.
“If it’s what he was looking forward to and what he wanted, I am sure it will go well, as it did well in all the places he’s been.”
