Mikel Arteta has stated that Arsenal would make two transfers before the deadline

Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, wants to reduce his roster when the summer transfer market closes on Friday night.

The last week of the summer transfer season looks eventful for Arsenal. Declan Rice, Kai Kai Havertz Jurrien Timber, and David Raya have all signed with the Gunners and will be part of Mikel Arteta's team for the 2023–24 season.

Folarin Balogun is expected to quit the team as Monaco draws nearer to offering him a permanent move. Following the USMNT player departs, Edu will focus on trying to oust at least five more players from the club.

Nicolas Pepe, Cedric, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Rob Holding, and Nuno Tavares are all anticipated to depart the Emirates Stadium. 

Arteta has already made the improbable suggestion that Gabriel Magalhaes and Emile Smith Rowe may be permitted to quit the team after falling in the club's hierarchy this season. 

After being a frequent starter in the first three Premier League games of the previous campaign, the Brazilian defender has been left out of the starting XI this time around.

 Gabriel has drawn attention from Juventus and Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad, although it's believed that his absence from the first squad is due to tactical considerations rather than rumors about his future.

Before the transfer deadline, Chelsea is said to be mulling a surprise move for Smith Rowe.

 Arsenal may or may not approve a 23-year-old's move this late in the transfer window, but they will probably want a hefty sum considering that Smith Rowe's contract doesn't expire until 2026.

The England international is yet to appear in the Premier League this season but did play three minutes in the FA Community Shield victory against Manchester City. Smith Rowe, who has recovered from his injury difficulties of the previous 12 months, has been passed over in favor of Fabio Vieira and Leandro Trossard as substitutes and in the starting XI.
