Aleksandar Mitrović scored three goals in only his third Saudi Pro League game as Al Hilal handed reigning champions Al Ittihad their first loss.
Aleksandar Mitrovic, a former Fulham striker, scored three goals on Friday as Al-Hilal defeated Al-Ittihad 4-3 thanks to an incredible comeback.
The home team entered the contest as the Saudi League Champions and had not lost a point all year.
After only 16 minutes, Al Ittihad seized the lead when Brazilian captain Romarinho scored.
However, Mitrovic quickly restored the deficit, and Ittihad went into halftime leading 3-1 thanks to goals from star acquisitions Karim Benzema and Abderrazak Hamdallah.
However, Jorge Jesus' team did not let their guard down as Mitrovic netted two more goals in only five minutes to tie the game with 25 minutes left.
Then, Nasser Al-Dawsari completed the comeback with a goal that put his team atop the Pro League in the 71st minute.
With four victories and a tie from their first five games, Al-Hilal is the only team that is still undefeated.
After registering four victories before to Friday's loss, Nuno Espirito Santo's team is still just one point behind the leaders.
