Trader Collapses After Losing N275,000 at Abaji Main Market, Causing Alarm Among Vendors

On Thursday, Mrs. Gladys Ibrahim, a female trader, experienced a dramatic collapse at the Abaji Main Market, situated in the Abaji Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). This incident followed her discovery that she had lost a substantial sum of N275,000.

According to DailyTrust, an eyewitness named Gambo provided a detailed account of the situation. Mrs. Ibrahim, who had been in the market to purchase melons, reached into her handbag to retrieve the money needed for her transaction. To her shock and dismay, she found that the money was missing, which led to her sudden collapse.

Gambo elaborated that Mrs. Ibrahim, who hails from Auchi in Edo State, typically travels to the Abaji market every five days. She purchases large quantities of melons and groundnuts during these visits. The unexpected financial loss overwhelmed her, causing her to collapse at the scene.

The event stirred considerable concern among other traders at the market. In response to the distressing situation, several vendors attempted to revive Mrs. Ibrahim by pouring water on her. The incident underscores the severe impact that financial losses can have on individuals, especially in high-stress environments such as busy marketplaces.
