Tragic Accident on Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway Claims 11 Lives, Including Two Babies, as Bus Collides with Stationary Truck

Tragedy struck on Sunday, August 11, when eleven passengers, including two infants, lost their lives in a horrific accident along the Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway in Abia State. The incident occurred at Umuika Junction, a section of the expressway known for its heavy traffic.

According to reports, the fatal crash involved a commercial bus that collided with a stationary truck in the Apu Na Ekpu/Egbelu Mbutu area. The impact of the collision was devastating, leaving no time for rescue efforts, and all the passengers perished instantly. Among the deceased were two babies, underscoring the heart-wrenching nature of the tragedy.

Remarkably, the only survivor of the accident was the driver of the bus, who was fortunate enough to escape the grim fate that befell the others.
