Speaking ahead of United's upcoming Premier League match against Southampton this weekend, Ten Hag mentioned that the Dutch left-back is "progressing really well" and making "big steps" in his recovery.
Although Malacia has been training individually since July, he has not yet rejoined full team sessions. However, Ten Hag expressed optimism, stating that Malacia is expected to return to full training soon and could feature in matches shortly after.
Malacia joined Manchester United from Feyenoord in July 2022 as Ten Hag's first signing, for a fee of around £15 million. He played 39 games in his debut season, with his last appearance coming in a 2-1 victory over Fulham in May 2023.
Unfortunately, he missed the entire 2023/24 campaign due to his knee surgery
