Kylian Mbappé has been excluded from the French national team for their November international fixtures, despite being fully fit and available.
Didier Deschamps, the head coach, clarified that his decision to leave out Mbappé was purely technical and followed discussions with the player.
This marks the second consecutive international break Mbappé has missed; his previous absence in October was due to fitness concerns as he was recovering from an injury.
For the November lineup, France has called up a mix of talent across all positions. Goalkeepers include Lucas Chevalier (Lille), Mike Maignan (AC Milan), and Brice Samba (Lens). The defensive lineup features Jonathan Clauss (Nice), Lucas Digne (Aston Villa), Wesley Fofana (Chelsea), Theo Hernandez (AC Milan), Ibrahima Konaté (Liverpool), Jules Koundé (Barcelona), William Saliba (Arsenal), and Dayot Upamecano (Bayern Munich). Midfielders selected are Eduardo Camavinga (Real Madrid), Matteo Guendouzi (Lazio), N’Golo Kanté (Al-Ittihad), Manu Koné (Roma), Adrien Rabiot (Marseille), and Warren Zaïre-Emery (PSG). Forwards include Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembélé, and Randal Kolo Muani from PSG, along with Christopher Nkunku (Chelsea), Michael Olise (Bayern Munich), and Marcus Thuram (Inter Milan).
France's upcoming matches are set for November 14 against Israel at Stade de France and November 17 against Italy at San Siro in Milan. These games are part of the UEFA Nations League, with France aiming for strong performances to secure a spot in the quarter-finals.
