Tottenham Hotspur's manager, Ange Postecoglou, has expressed strong confidence that Mathys Tel will remain with the club beyond his current loan spell.Tel, a 19-year-old French forward, joined Spurs on a six-month loan from Bayern Munich during the January transfer window. The agreement includes an option for Tottenham to make the move permanent for £45 million.
Initially, Tel was hesitant about the move, even turning down a £50 million deal. However, a persuasive conversation with Postecoglou led to a change of heart. The manager emphasized the club's vision and how Tel fits into their long-term plans.
Postecoglou addressed concerns about the temporary nature of Tel's stay, stating, "I didn't bring him here for six months. I think he'll show everyone he's going to be a Tottenham player in the next six months."
Tel's versatility allows him to play both centrally and on the wing, providing valuable options for Tottenham, especially amid their current injury challenges. He is expected to make his debut in the upcoming Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool.
In addition to Tel, Tottenham has bolstered their squad with the loan signing of 26-year-old center-back Kevin Danso from RC Lens. These acquisitions aim to strengthen the team as they navigate the remainder of the season.
