Carlos Alcaraz has officially joined Everton on loan from Brazilian club Flamengo for the remainder of the 2024–25 season. The agreement includes an option for the Merseyside club to make the transfer permanent for £15 million at the end of the loan spell.
The 22-year-old Argentine midfielder, who started his professional career at Racing Club, previously played in the Premier League with Southampton before moving to Flamengo in August 2024. During his time in Brazil, he contributed three goals and two assists in 19 appearances. His move to Everton marks a return to English football, where he aims to make a strong impact under manager David Moyes.
Alcaraz, who will wear the number 24 shirt previously donned by Anthony Gordon, expressed his excitement about joining Everton. “I'm very happy to join Everton. I can't wait to train with my new teammates and play in front of the fans,” he said.
Everton sees the acquisition of Alcaraz as a key move to bolster their midfield options as they continue their push to improve their position in the Premier League.
