Inter Milan extended their lead at the top of Serie A with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Udinese at San Siro on Sunday.
The Serie A gaints got first-half goals from Marko Arnautovic and Davide Frattesi, both assisted by Federico Dimarco, secured the win, while goalkeeper Yann Sommer's crucial late saves preserved the advantage.
It was learnt that Arnautovic opened the scoring in the 12th minute, converting Dimarco's precise cross with a first-time finish from around the penalty spot.
Meanwhile Inter Milan got their second goal, it was Frattesi that doubled the lead before the half-hour mark, again capitalizing on Dimarco's service to put Inter in control.
Meanwhile, Udinese responded in the 71st minute when defender Oumar Solet unleashed a stunning long-range effort, narrowing the deficit and setting up a tense finale.
In the closing stages, Sommer made pivotal saves, including a close-range stop against Solet in stoppage time, ensuring Inter secured all three points.
This victory provisionally extends Inter's lead at the top of the Serie A standings to six points, ahead of second-placed Napoli's match against AC Milan later on Sunday. Udinese remains in 10th place with 40 points.
Despite the win, Inter manager Simone Inzaghi was sent off late in the game for entering the field to argue a no-call by the referee, highlighting the match's intensity.
