Umar Sadiq Receives La Liga Goal of the Month Award with Valencia
Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq has been awarded La Liga’s Goal of the Month for March 2025. The recognition comes after his brilliant backheel goal against CA Osasuna at El Sadar Stadium. Sadiq’s strike, which came in the 87th minute, was a stunning backheel that redirected Sergi Canós' precise cross, helping Valencia secure a 3-3 draw.
The goal stood out among other impressive contenders, including Diego García’s spectacular overhead kick for CD Leganés and Andrei Rațiu's long-range effort for Rayo Vallecano. Sadiq’s goal was key in Valencia's ongoing battle to climb away from the relegation zone, further cementing his importance to the team.
In addition to this individual recognition, Sadiq's overall contributions to Valencia have been significant. He was also nominated for Player of the Month after scoring three goals in March, including two against Osasuna and one against Real Valladolid CF.
