Tottenham Hotspur Announces Starting XI for Europa League Quarter-Final Against Eintracht Frankfurt

Tottenham Hotspur has unveiled its starting lineup for the highly anticipated Europa League quarter-final first leg against Eintracht Frankfurt. Manager Ange Postecoglou has made two changes to the squad that secured a 3-1 victory over Southampton last weekend, aiming to strike the perfect balance between defensive stability and attacking prowess.

The backline sees the return of Micky van de Ven, who replaces Ben Davies at center-back, while Destiny Udogie steps in for Djed Spence at left-back. This defensive reshuffle reunites the back five of Guglielmo Vicario, Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, van de Ven, and Udogie—a combination last seen in October 2024.

In midfield, Rodrigo Bentancur and Lucas Bergvall retain their positions, showcasing their growing partnership and consistency. James Maddison, a creative force in the No.10 role, starts his third game in a week, emphasizing his importance to Postecoglou's tactical setup.

The attacking trio features Heung-min Son, Dominic Solanke, and Brennan Johnson. Johnson's inclusion comes after his impressive brace against Southampton, edging out Wilson Odobert, who delivered a standout performance in the previous Europa League round against AZ Alkmaar.

Tottenham's confirmed starting XI: Vicario; Porro, Romero, van de Ven, Udogie; Bergvall, Bentancur, Maddison; Johnson, Solanke, Son (c).

Substitutes: Austin, Whiteman, Spence, Davies, Gray, Sarr, Bissouma, Moore, Odobert, Richarlison, Tel.
