The versatile 32‑year‑old has agreed to a one‑year contract with the Championship club and will wear the number 27 jersey for the upcoming campaign. Schlupp brings considerable experience from England’s top tier and multiple positions across defense and midfield, which the club views as key assets in their promotion push.
Upon his unveiling, Schlupp spoke enthusiastically about the move:
“I’m really excited… a lot to look forward to back in the Championship at a big club. I’ve spoken to the head coach about the plan for this year… hopefully we can create something special this year.”
Norwich City’s football operations chief Ben Knapper commented on the signing:
“Jeffrey’s career speaks for itself… his quality, versatility and character will all bring great benefit to the squad. He also serves as a reference point for our younger players.”
Schlupp began his career at Leicester City, rising through their youth system to make 150 senior appearances. He was part of Leicester’s historic Premier League title-winning side in 2015–16 and also claimed a Championship winner’s medal in the previous season.
In January 2017, he transferred to Crystal Palace, where he spent eight seasons as a dependable utility player, covering various roles across the left flank and central midfield.
During the latter half of the 2024–25 season, Schlupp was loaned to Celtic, making 18 appearances and helping the club secure the Scottish Premiership title.
Schlupp’s arrival strengthens Norwich’s squad versatility, offering coverage in multiple positions when injuries or rotation demands arise. With the Canaries seeking a return to the Premier League, his leadership and top-flight experience are expected to be instrumental under the management of Liam Manning.
