On Sunday, July 13, 2025, Julius Abure, the factional National Chairman of the Labour Party, paid a private visit to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, at his residence in Abuja.
Although neither party disclosed details of their conversation, the visit drew widespread attention due to its timing. It came shortly after Abure publicly called on Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, to withdraw from the party over his alliance with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.
