Nigerian music executive and entrepreneur, Ubi Franklin, is grieving the heartbreaking loss of his sister, who died following a battle with cancer.
In an emotional tribute shared on social media, Franklin reflected on her profound impact on his life, describing her as one of his most cherished gifts. He recalled how, after their father's passing in 2004 while he was studying law, he moved in with his sister and her husband in Abuja. A holiday trip she later arranged to Lagos in 2005 marked the beginning of his journey into the entertainment industry.
Franklin revealed that he had spent time with her from April to early July before traveling to the UK. He recounted saying goodbye to her on July 3, hopeful of seeing her again upon his return. However, she was admitted to the intensive care unit shortly after returning to Abuja and passed away while he was en route back to Nigeria. He arrived in Abuja in the early hours of the morning but only received the news of her passing later that day.
Despite his pain, Franklin expressed gratitude for her unwavering support and nurturing spirit. He described her as selfless, kind-hearted, and a significant part of his journey. He concluded his tribute by affirming his eternal love for her and his belief that she is now in a better place.
