Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is on the verge of joining Turkish giants Besiktas, with personal terms nearly finalized, according to renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Besiktas, now managed by Ole Gunnar Solskjær, have reportedly had their £8.3 million bid accepted by Leicester City. This comes despite Ndidi’s £9 million release clause being triggered following the Foxes’ relegation from the Premier League. The 28-year-old Nigerian international is expected to travel to Istanbul in the coming days to undergo medical examinations and sign a three-year contract, which includes an option for a fourth year.

Ndidi, who made 30 appearances last season with one goal and five assists, has spent eight years at Leicester since joining from Genk in 2017. His consistent performances and ball-winning prowess have made him one of the Premier League’s most respected defensive midfielders.

While Real Betis and Fenerbahçe also expressed interest in the Super Eagles star, Besiktas have emerged as frontrunners. The club views Ndidi as a cornerstone of their midfield rebuild as they aim to return to title contention in the Turkish Super Lig
