Franco Mastantuono Suffers Muscle Strain, Returns to Madrid During International Duty

Real Madrid youngster Franco Mastantuono has reportedly sustained a muscle strain and is expected to return to Madrid ahead of his international duties.
According to statements from Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso, Mastantuono experienced discomfort in his hamstring during the club’s recent match against Villarreal. Although he was initially slated to join Argentina’s national team for the upcoming fixtures, the injury has triggered a reassessment of that plan.

Alonso indicated that both Mastantuono and Kylian Mbappé (who picked up a mild ankle issue) would be closely monitored. He noted: “Mbappé has discomfort in his ankle; Mastantuono has an overload. We will see, we will keep monitoring them.”

While Real Madrid has yet to provide a full medical bulletin, the situation is being handled with caution. The club’s priority is to manage the player’s fitness and prevent further aggravation, especially with a demanding fixture list ahead.

At the present time, it remains unclear whether Mastantuono will continue with Argentina or return to Madrid for further assessment. Madrid, meanwhile, continue to monitor the situation closely and will make decisions based on his recovery trajectory.
