David Raum opened the scoring with a superb free kick in the 12th minute to give Germany an early lead. Luxembourg’s night got worse when defender Dirk Carlson was sent off for handling the ball inside the penalty area. Captain Joshua Kimmich converted the resulting penalty to double Germany’s advantage before halftime.
After the break, Kimmich struck again with a well-placed shot from the edge of the box, completing his brace and putting the game beyond reach. Serge Gnabry added the fourth goal shortly after, sealing a comfortable win for Julian Nagelsmann’s side.
With this result, Germany leapfrogged to first place in their group on goal difference, easing the pressure following their earlier qualifying setback. The victory boosts their chances of booking an early place at the 2026 World Cup.
Up next, Germany will travel to face Northern Ireland as they look to maintain their strong run and secure top spot in the group.
