Moise Kean opened the scoring early in the match, converting a precise pass from Federico Dimarco with a sharp finish to give Italy the lead. Mateo Retegui then doubled the advantage in the 38th minute with a crisp strike following excellent build-up play involving Dimarco and Riccardo Orsolini.
Estonia managed to pull one back in the 73rd minute after Donnarumma fumbled a cross, allowing Rauno Sappinen to pounce and score from close range. However, Italy responded almost immediately as Francesco Pio Esposito restored their two-goal cushion with a clean finish from Leonardo Spinazzola’s cross just a minute later.
The win strengthens Italy’s position in the World Cup qualifying group and keeps them firmly in contention for a place at the 2026 tournament.
